In 1890 a large Victorian family villa was built in an imposing
position on the terraced slopes of the East Looe river valley known as Commonwood.
From all aspects of the 6-acre grounds surrounding the house a visitor gets
views over the river into Looe and the Cornish countryside of the valley slopes
opposite.
Sharing this location eight cottages have been built in the grounds above Barclay House. These cottages offer luxury and each cottage is individually decorated and furnished to achieve a unique interior style.
These cottages have been specifically created for use as holiday homes-winning a design award for tourism accommodation in 1996. Using local stone and rustic timber each cottage has been positioned to give you a panoramic view.
Five minutes walk from the harbour town of Looe with its fish market, restaurants, pubs, shops and beaches.
